    Sugarloaf 4/24,4/25

Sugarloaf has much better late season climate. Further north and west of Sunday River with much greater elevation. They get the best late season snows. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, their snowiest months are Feb., April, March. (In that order)

    NE Gets Screwed Again?

Yeah, Sugarloaf went from 102 trails open this past w/e to 27 today!!! I'm sure once the groomers get out those numbers will greatly improve but still... #-o

    New England Snow Holes

Great post. When I originally posted this thread I was more than anything just thinking about how some people were saying how great a season New England was having and my experience was that it was average. I am still new to finding/following the good snows in Vermont which is the most variable...

    Another storm is a'comin??

We are still at the 72 + hour mark. The models are finding better agreement but I would wait until at least the 18z run of the NAM tomorrow night and see if it and the GFS have come in to agreement. If so, then I will start getting excited! This storm has good potential for Western MA, S.W. NH...

    New England Snow Holes

Yes, to be fair I am not familiar enough with Killington or Okemo to know where to find the better woods stashes. The glades I visited were marked and moderately high traffic (mostly off North Ridge) I spent many years living closer to the coast and skiing NH and Maine and this is only my...

    New England Snow Holes

Where are you skiing in the Berkshires? How is Jiminy this year?

    New England Snow Holes

Honestly I have only been out in the back country of the northern Berkshires so I cannot comment on the lift serve areas of Western MA. (Except for Berkshire East which has certainly gotten short changed on snow this year. I have encountered what I would call average snow depths in the Greylock...

    New England Snow Holes

Hey rivercOIl I hear you in terms of at least everything is open in New England with decent coverage. I think I may have gone to the wrong part of VT. Magic is a lot closer to me than Killington and Okemo and it sounds like you found good conditions there. I'm surprised Magic was in such...

    New England Snow Holes

Thought i would post a quick report until I have time (patience) to do a longer one. Despite several major snow storms hitting the Northeast so far this season there is still a significant lack of "strong" base at many New England areas. Last weeks storm left feet of snow in parts of New...

    Another Storm A'brewin?

I heard the skiing is pretty good out on Cape Cod... Just sayin' :?

    Another Storm A'brewin?

Tough call on this one. I'll wait until at least thursday's model runs to make a prediction but the upper level dynamics seem favorable to a split jet stream which would likely send this storm off the mid-atlantic coast. The modeling shows the polar vortex too far east (keeps storm off coast) to...

    November 2009 = pathetic

The pattern shift to colder and snowier probably won't establish until after the middle of the month. This weeks upcoming storm looks to be a Great Lakes Cutter which means the eastern areas are on the warm side but it should still bring snow to the areas in Quebec and Northern New England/NY...

    Tremblant Snow Report videos

Yes, it seems everyone is a few weeks behind in the east this season. No worries yet, just a bit of frustration. There will be a period of cold air coming to the east this weekend and snow possibly midweek (chances are better for Tremblant etc. with that system) but looking at the long range...
