Absolutely and 100% makes sense for a regional local who was already passing through to have a fun 'local' day. But if he is skipping out on VT, NH, etc... to ski Greek Peak? That would make no sense; this isn't the alps with 'small' local areas with surprisingly big terrain and lots of vert.

Given his choices, it feels like a combo of wanting to see some vistas and ignore any reality on the ground as to where the snow is. He's pretty hard set on which ski area on what day for the most part even if they literally have no snow. Very inflexible approach to any 2 month road trip IMO...

No snowmaking system in Utah or Colorado has accomplished all that much this particular year. That many visits apparently equals a ~$120M price tag for Eldora.... Vail has really, really fallen behind in doing any lift improvements. They have an enormous fleet of lifts and yet only install like 3-4 new or replacement lifts per year. That is unsustainable long term. I can only guess that...

I currently have no idea on this, but I know I will hear from many up there about the change when it gets close to happening and they spell out the official town benefits for them (which has not happened yet). Most likely.
