My next hobby: Snowboarding... any tips?

front leg is the steering wheel. engage leading edge. let the sidecut of board make the turn for you. go slow, but not too slow. some sliding/skidding may occur. that's ok. may even want to start with that to know how it feels to sideslip both heel/toe edges. strap in. look uphill. stand up...

    big sky 3/8/12

sunny. lower mountain, bumps and groomers. upper mountain, not so much left for powder. liberty is chopped up, but soft. marx is windblown, but edgable. 1st gully is softer, but also edgable windblown. challenger face ripped.

    Big Sky Montana 2/25-3/2

thanks for posting. you happened to hit one of the best weeks of the year i think. backcountry and even the slackcountry has been pretty sketchy with the recent snows. saddle mtn that lies right next to bridger ripped out to the ground a week or so ago. just one person moderately injured. i'm...

good good good. just been working at building and growing a biz and hoarding cash. i think i got out about 6 days last year, but 4 of them were in ut. hoping to change that this year though. powder mtn is a nice little spot i checked out a couple times. hoping to do a trip back out to jackson...

    cannon and loon conditions

cannon 1/5/12 great snow conditions mountain wide for the majority of the day. temps low to mid 20's. it started to get skied off after noonish, but still very edgible all over the mountain and no need to hold back due to trail conditions except for obvious high traffic areas. we packed it up...

Bozeman to Red Lodge / Bozeman to Jackson Hole?

boz to rock dodge - ~3hrs as stated above. (must visit the snow creek in town) boz to jh - ~5hrs dependent on winter weather. 4wd is a must IMO and chains aren't a bad idea to keep around. however, i never needed 'em, but 4wd was locked in a lot of the way. good luck!

    Bridger Bowl 12-27-07

some folks don't mind paying to hike; go right ahead. plenty bc for free in that neck of the woods. sled or no sled. it's like skiing jackson to ski cody, north shore, etc. there is more to jackson than the ob and more to bridger than the ridge (but not much). enough to keep one entertained for...

    Cannon 12/3/07

real quick: pretty good. they picked up about 8-10" today. dumping hard at 2pm and apparantly through 4pm. with steady traffic on the open trails, it was barely noticable, but soft most of the day. ok, in that regard, i guess it was noticable. all open terrain held up well until about 1pm, then...

    Taos Snowboard Ban

to make a long story short it's simply the sensation and gratification recieved is why some choose to slide sideways on one board and others need two planks pointing in the same direction we walk. whether it's the freedom, the expression, lifestyle, or countless other reasons it's just fun. what...
