Yup - when we visit - it is going to be a weighing of factors, time with friends, driving distances and skiing needs. Spoiled by our friends who live in Park City and flying into SLC where everything is in play
I have what is probably a dumb question but I have never skied in Colorado. I have friends moving to Boulder - if you were squeezing in skiing while also having to visit Boulder, what would the best options be? Thanks - need a mountain with varied terrain as my wife is a low intermediate skier.
Too true - the fact that I usually ski for free there does not hurt either. I started skiing fairly recently (last 7 years or so) and started 1 day a year, then 2 etc. and now only ski 11-12 days a year so I am not looking for the super-challenging terrain that everyone else here is looking for.
I know it takes a beating on the boards, but I like Deer Valley - I ski there every year - it is my friends who live in Jeremy Ranch home mountain (and I usually score free lift tickets).
I skied DV this past week except for Sunday and PCMR was way more crowded - not sure how that correlates...
Cool. I skied PCMR for the first time on Sunday. Although they were having trouble with lifts, I had a good time. Was way more crowded than Deer Valley though.
Did you ski Lost Prospector/Dynamite/Newport? How about Glory Hole? Both were extremely fun on Sunday.
I was at PCMR on Sunday too, funny. My wife took the day off as did our friends, but they had a free lift ticket to PCMR so off I went. Fun day. Had never skied there before and the trails are not well marked.
Glory Hole was sweet as was the Lost Prospoector/Dynamite/Newport loop I did a...
Agree on the late March issue although this year may be an exception due to snow volume etc. Last March 23-26 I was in the Park City area and it was very warm (with a freeze over at night) and by 1:00 it was basically unskiable for me and time to quit.
Big difference this year (a little more...
There is a Surefoot at PCMR - my Park City friends use that.
Lots of overpriced food - Snake River Grill in Heber was very good (we tried it for the first time this trip).
For lower priced food, I like Good Thymes and Loco Lizard in Kimble Junction
Have had good/great meals at Steins...
