    Eastern Closing dates 2007-08

Bromont is now talking about April 20. Bromont is april 20th. I was there today with solid conditions on the bottom and corn on top. The snow park is in great shape but there is only the main side open. Familly season pass there for next season: 777$ + waterpark season familly pass extra: 79$...

    Ste-Marie and Cascades - March 21-22, 08

Did the klotz run several years ago on a powder day. This is a great down mountain run with rolls and knowls but was rarely open cause of snow conditions and I think safety features. I think it is too much of a hassle for the patrollers to get someone out of there if injured (personnal opinion)...

Edelweiss, QC - March 5, 2008 - Powder day in Ottawa????

I'm glad to see my home town is getting some good white stuff!! I used to live in both Cascades village for a long time and Edelweiss for a bit and I don't remember this much snow. I was born too late in 71 and missed that big year. Indeed, a good powder day in ottawa is a rare thing. This...

    AT gear for rent, Burlington?

Can someone tell me where I can find an alpine touring set up to rent nearby Burlington. Planning to skin up the ouest side of Mansfield and don't want to drive all the way around to Stowe since we are coming down from the north country. Does climb high or EMS have them for rent? JP

    Sutton, Qc, 22/02

Didn't feel like doing lifts today assuming that Bromont would be iced up. Plus my wife decided to stay home. So I decided to go to Sutton, where they usually get more snow. This place is about 10 miles north west of Big Jay. Got to alt. 520m (1731'), booted up with skis to my back to the...

    Massif, Qc 15-16 feb

Yes, this guy is Lionel. He was hired in December to run this program. And he is coming down from France so I'm not sure about his english. But, since they are testing the program and that more and more americans go there, I'm sure they will accomodate. If you are looking for an epic...

Actually, this is a 2 hour ride. It includes the guide 35$ and the equipment 35$. So if you have your BC equipment, you only pay for the guide. You can also rent just the skins for 5$. This is for someone looking for their first experience in the backcountry. the guide will go through the...

    Massif, Qc 15-16 feb

What a week-end! My wife and I headed out Thursday night to le Massif for an annual anniversary celebration. We’ve been together 11 years and she is still hanging on to me. I wonder why cause I’ve tested her limits probably more than mine. Tons of snow out there. As always, when leaving Quebec...

    Bromont, Qc, feb 8th

Powder up here is a rare thing. Through this week, we got if we're lucky, a big 2-3" of snow on top of that nice ice crust. It makes for hard pack conditions with loose granular on the groomed trails. As far as the off trail stuff... ice + 2" on top for most spots. Hey!! the snow park is in...

    Need help on Mansfield's backcountry

That's the official line that they'll give you over the phone. AFAIK the technique I described above still works. Even if we are a party of 5 or 6, maybe more?

    Need help on Mansfield's backcountry

I called the resort today and they don't do single ride tickets anymore. They do not give any information regarding the backcountry either. As far as the stowe cross country center, they sell tickets for the toll house chairlift for 17$ on week days and 19$ for week-ends. they don't sell...
