You probably won't get much info in regards to snowboards on this site..me thinks there are more 2-plankr's than boarders on here..Decide what kind of riding you do i.e. park (freestyle) or all mountain or freeride..many good boards, boots and bindings on the market..I ride a Rome Agent...
If your buddy is a snowboarder and your going to drive an hour North..skip Snowbasin and head to Powder Mountain..take a few 12 dolla cat rides and go looking for hidden stashes amongst the aspens, never crowded...P.C. was won of the worst places I've been on a snowboard, since I don't ride...
Thought I'd drop my 2 cents worth of knowledge on booking early...first off I'm from the East..Ontario, Canada..have to book early because work requires me too!..sucks I know...so for the past 9 years I have been booking trips (2 a season) as early as Aug..because of cheap flights..so my stats...
A buddy and I are booked for the Ogden Valley..Jan.17-24/09...and a family trip to Sugarbush, VT for the end of Feb.
Not happy with our dollar, falling out of the sky...but who cares about that on powder day anyway?...flights were cheap to SLC..under 200.00CDN return from Detroit.
Sounds Great!...Looking forward to it..seems I've got everything in order..flight/condo/rental car..now just need the time to arrive and hope for a record breaking snowfall...... ...Thanks again..
Well looks like we are booked in at Moosehollow...place looks great..and if it snows and the roads are more than our full size car can handle..we can take the shuttle...also near the res. for snowkiting..any suggestions for rest. or taverns in Eden?...Thanks for all the input.
How is the drive to Snowbasin...SUV required?...think we had a toyota camry when we went up for the day to powmow..but then is was a sunny day!
besides..I'd probably need chains with a car..and not with an SUV...much night life in Ogden???...and suggestions with rest. and pubs?. I'm looking a...
my reason for staying north this year...is because I've been to the cottonwood area many times...and PowMow has some great snowkiting locations..I'm bringing my kite and board..if the mtn's lack fresh pow then the we will hope for wind!
Hi All!
Any suggestions regarding accom. in the Ogden area..purchased a flight to SLC and plan on hitting Powder Mtn/Snowbasin and take in some snowkiting in that area...have been to the Cottonwood area many times and know there is an abundance of places to stay..I will be renting a SUV for the...
So nice to read..Yes ..was a longtime skier and now have been boarding for 7 yrs...as far as resorts that don't allow boarders..who cares!..and as far as ruining slopes...maybe the skiers should clean up there own backyards instead of moaning about boarders..I mean really..to think that...
I see that flights are reasonable to Jackson Hole out of Detroit..Grand Targhee/Jackson Hole combo might work also..will decide when I attend the Toronto Ski/Snowboard Show in 2 weeks..hoping to find some deals
Does a La Nina winter effect Wyoming much?..or is it more along the PNW?
So would Red Mtn. have the same snow as Schweitzer in a La nina year?...and does Kicking Horse benefit from this also or too far north?..I've read that fog can be a problem at Schweitzer..I am looking late Jan. for my trip..1st week of Feb...with the CDN dollar it makes more sense to enjoy the...
I've been reading about Schweitzer Mtn. and Sliver Mtn...Does anybody have and info from past visits..I see it is easy to reach from Spokane. From what I gather they average about 300" a year and part of the Selkirk range. Now I've heard that this is a possible La Nina year which makes this...
Thanks again to everyone for their input!...But it looks like Utah has been picked again this year..staying up towards Powder Mountain..they are having a Snowkiting Festival on Feb./08..and since half of us also snowkite we win!..Ha!..I've been to PowMow for one day only and have never been to...
