    some mountain somewhere

=D> Whoa. The only thing that's as good as your photos are the lines you pick. Drop in looks skinny and steep, like you'd have to bleed off some speed in the first couple of turns to avoid warp-speed. That looks like a blast. \:D/

    More skiing at Snowbird

That's some of the best news to come out of the skiing industry in a while. Do you think any other resorts will follow suit?

    Google Earth

I spent a lot of time viewing Mammoth and Tremblant with GE, it's just such a cool piece of software. I wonder how long it will be before the resort websites start using it to have "virtual fly-overs" of the resort. My guess is that they won't, just because the photos are not real-time, and...

    April Snow

I'm not sure what group you have your timeshare with, but i do know that there is a place called the Heidelberg Inn which my girlfriends family can use their timeshares at. It's in June Lakes, about 20 miles from mammoth. I was looking to stay there when i went, but for only two people it wasn't...

Trip Report: Mammoth to Yosemite then Reno: June 13-15, 2005

That's basically what I figured, though it is somewhat interesting that you may not be able to skin at mammoth. Doesn't suprise me too much though, given that often cited litigious climate.

Trip Report: Mammoth to Yosemite then Reno: June 13-15, 2005

This brings up an interesting question. If you show on, say for the sake of argument, July 6th, with you skis, would you be able to buy a scenic ride pass for the gondola, go to the top and ski down on what was left? just wondering if they would try to stop you from taking your gear to the...

Trip Report: Mammoth to Yosemite then Reno: June 13-15, 2005

Sounds like an awesome trip. you shared a lot of the feelings that i had about mammoth: HUGE mountain, tons of snow, the feeling that " i just did the same vertical as 4 of ( choose small local mountain). I love that feeling of skiing until you just can't do it anymore. But i would have been...

    The best thing...

That makes me wonder: Why am I sitting at a desk, inside, with the outside temp at almost 30c, in an area compleatley devoid of anything that could even remotely be considered a hill? That's right: I'm a sucka.

    Mammoth 5/6-5/11

I spent a buch of time editing together this video of my trip: http://www.big8digital.com/jon/ Still can't believe that was MAY. \:D/ EDIT: The guy on the snowboard is my buddy John. He did most of the filming and picture-taking so that's why there are more shots of me. You'll also notice...

    Any British Columbia snowcat recommendations?

Red is a really great mountain. not the biggest vert out there, but some really crazy in-bounds terrain. I spent a week out there in the mid 90's during a freeze-thaw cycle and still had a great time (though I was 16 at the time, so I could handle the bone shattering abuse a bit better). But...
