I agree with you regarding importance of lessons. We can probably go to Kirkwood instead of Northstar. Their beginner lessons are $89 instead of Northstar's $170. I will do some more research on which resorts in Tahoe offer continuing ski lessons. This year we can probably do another 6-8 days...

I spent the holiday black out period at Beaver Creek using the epic pass. The lift lines during the black out period were not as bad as Jan 2 to 5.

I read these top 10 lists for resorts to avoid. These resorts become popular and therefore crowded. My enjoyment of skiing is inversely correlated with crowds. Smaller areas are better for me like the Yosemite Badger pass.
