Well, Eldora finally got a double digit snowfall this season. Pic below from just now before they clear it for the day. So the 3" on todays report is part of what is on the stake. Top of the gray curve you can barely see is roughly 18" tall. Not that everyone and their brother won't be hitting...

Big Sky is certainly big enough to keep you entertained for a day even with a lot of top terrain/lifts closed. That said, pretty disappointing in March have so many top lifts not open for skiing (tram, headwaters, etc...)

For me the mind blowing part of this story is that a significant resort had an in-bounds avalanche big enough to bury someone under several feet of snow for several hours and apparently not a single person noticed - neither pubic nor patrol or etc... The wife (who was sitting at home in Bothell)...

That cornice above the cat track/run looks very dangerous. I would be questioning the guides before skiing under that thing. Otherwise looks like some great terrain.

My take is that Mustang terrain is generally tough enough that people who are only strong intermediates or weekend warriors will more easily/quickly recognize they need a break. Not sure of others thoughts on that. But I have rarely seen breaks taken in other cat groups I've done previously. And...
