Re: Baldface Snowcat, Jan. 23-26, 2012

Nice TR Tony...that place looks wicked cool. Have been to Big Red Cats a couple of times but no other...I think I need to add Baldface to my bucket list. Hey, do you know if Dave (unred.com) Thomas is still a photographer at Baldface?

Red Mountain Jan 21 2012 - surprisingly good

...after ripping hard and large on Saturday, spent Sunday teaching my local friend's staff member to board...it was fun as she was a very quick study and my legs really needed a break. Monday was mostly Bluebird with intermittent patches of low cloud. Absolutely NO ONE on the Hill. I was 2nd...

    Western Weather 2010-14

On the drive up from Spokane the snowfall picked up as we approach the Boarder. I am certain that we were headed the right direction. Timing was above average proving once again that even a blind squirrel will find a nut once in a while...

Drove up from Spokane last night....total $hit show... Landed in rain...Freezing Rain...always an exiting time especially with pylons who loose their $hit while driving in it. Anyway, made it out of metro area without major incident and headed north to the Border in a transitional weather event...

Agreed ...without a doubt, no conditions, no caveats.I feel the same about this as I did about Craig Kelly.

    Sarah Burke...R.I.P.

From what I had read early on (TGR) about the accident, Sarah actually landed on her feet (I don't know what trick she was doing) but suffered severe whiplash from the impact and that led to her vertebral artery tearing/rupturing. I have heard that the same thing can happen having your neck...

    Western Weather 2010-14

Excellent News...I have been in Tacoma WA on business since Sunday and have experienced 1st hand the $hit Show of weather that this area has been subjected to all week...they just aren't used to Storm conditions and don't have the plows/sanders needed to fight the battle and the freezing rain...

    Sarah Burke...R.I.P.

I just heard the terrible news about the passing of Sarah Burke earlier today...what a sad sad day. So young, so talented, too soon gone. RIP Sarah, thoughts and prayers for those you've left behind. This vid is a little tough to watch but it shows what a lovely person she was...what a loss...

Why the South West is So Dry - Bad Karma

Making BIG predictions about snow fall months in advance may be a Fool's Game...and maybe there is no explanation to explain what is happening (or not) in California but Man, this is like saying Shut Out with a minute left in the 3rd. Bad Karma? Just Sayin... Found a link to this article on TGR...

    January on the Powder Highway

I have driven this route from Revy south to Rossland many times in fair weather and in foul...you can easily make it to Nelson in 4 hrs IF the weather/driving is good but yes I would err on the side of caution if they are not. Tony, you are not often wrong...but FYI Red is 100% open as of...
