Drove up to Montreal today for my flight tomorrow to Calgary. Just a small amount of snow along the side of the highway in the far northern stretch of the Adirondack’s. But looked to be more snow on the higher peaks. No snow on the ground in Montreal.

Do those tarps really preserve that much snow over the long hot summers you can have out west? It seems sort of crazy to me. It must be expensive to buy those tarps and set them up and take them down. Plus, how much terrain can you cover?

Obviously and needless to say, it does get tougher as you get older to maintain your conditioning. I'm almost 70 and I definitely have "slowed" down. What do you do off-season for conditioning and exercising?

I just watched a video from a "ski influencer" that was shot on Sunday, March 15 at Heavenly. Looked very lean (lots of bare spots and rocks), especially down low on the mountain. I didn't realize it was that bad.

Which is? I just don't sleep well (or at all) on airplanes, even with a lie flat seat. Just too much light and ambient noise and commotion in the cabin to be able to really sleep. It's not a conducive environment for me to sleep. Maybe I could try taking a sleeping pill.

Query: If you're on a ski lift when a lighting bolt hits close by, do you drop your ski pole to the ground? I'm not holding on to two lighting rods in my hands if there is lighting close by.
