    Sunday River - Sunday 12/26

Conditions have been pretty icy since the rain last week. I'd say there's a good chance ice contributed to his fatal crash. Bummer. I wonder if he had a helmet on?

    One heluva way to go!

Ewwwwwww, I would think you would have to remove it???? Especially with all the pathogens found in blood these days. Even at cold temps there's no guarantee.

    Ski and board check ins

I have a lock that I use for my skis. I usually don't leave much in my ski bag that stays in the lodge. My shoes and stinky old socks....extra liner mitts. Stuff that nobody would want to steal. if I'm leaving something expensive in the lodge, I'll pay the 50 cents for the cubicle locker.

    Ouch

Today foot cramps again  but only in the left foot. I took one run at SR then had to sit at a picnic table and rub the cramp out of my left foot. I rebooted and skied the rest of the day no problem, providing I unbuckled after each run. My legs are in much better shape today though...

NESM Ski Videos: Christmas Wish list

Blizzard of Ahhhh's with Glen Plake. The movie that inspired me to learn to ski. I quit about a month after I bought all the gear though. Threw it all down cellar and left it there for many years. Only have ever seen it out on videotape though. You could try amazon.com, they would probably...

    Warren Miller

RivercOil, there was a feature article in either Ski or Skiing last month that told the details of the story. It's mentioned on the front cover, in case you can find a copy on the shelf somewhere.

    Ouch

I'm convinced that after hiking 20+ mountians this summer, cycling on a regular basis, and the occassional rollerblade, I would have been in just as good a shape for ski season if I had laid on the couch all summer and drank beer :o My legs were killing me half way down the first run, along...

Ski Bumming the Alps for a month

I skied 3 Vallees two years ago and highly recommend at least 4-5 days there. I suggest skiing over to Val Thorens and hitting the Cime du Caron. splendid skiing and views. The Rosti lunch is very good too. Zermatt is worth several days also. I hired a Swiss Mtn guide for a day and ended up...

Big Squaw Mountain "Shrinks" by 1,250 verts this s

I'm still bummed over this. Squaw has some really sweet glades, and some narrow winding trails that are fun to ski  Re: the chairlift; an offer was submitted to refurbish the anciet double for 200k, and the owner passed it by. That really is an awesome deal, given how long the...
