Noticed this happening last-night. Comically low.

    A Little Bohemia

Erratic is me trying to be diplomatic since I've never been there and don't want to body-slam anyone w/o first hand experience. However, some of their issues and visitors sentiments are pretty well documented. These I've heard many times with my own ears and have seen written all over and I'd...

    A Little Bohemia

Being in Madison, its clocked at 6 hours from here. Friends of mine that frequent the place say to budget 7 bc the 2 lane roads can be terrible if its snowing (and its always snowing). I frequently have clients of mine that know I love to ski ask if I've ever made the trip. My short answer...

Which North American Skiers Should Ski in Europe?

Excluding Denver and speaking strictly from a time on the mountain aspect; Ill add to this perspective from a midwesterner: If I were to go from where I live in Madison WI to say, SLC or Spokane, JHMR,....thats a stop in either ORD or DEN. Even if I leave by 7am, the flights typically don't...

    Brundage opinion....

Brundage is officially locked and loaded. No sense in messing about with changing at this juncture particularly with the good base. Keep it coming! After thinking on it and considering Brighton has always been one of my favs (~1000 acres vs Brundage !1500) Toss in Tamarack and thats plenty of...

    Brundage opinion....

I have a trip booked to Brundage for Jan 21-27. Idea was to get onto a snowcat for a day or two while there. I was put on the list and told id def get a solo spot when they start taking bookings which were to commence end of December. I guess I mistook this as a beginning to the snowcat...

    First Time Europe: Best Practices

I know there’s a general sentiment that there will be plenty of places to stay last minute now that it’s moving into off peak. That said, there is NOTHING available in Morzine / Les Gets and most of Grand Massif area (that doesn’t have a bunk bed and under rich guy cost) . I’m eyeing this for...

    First Time Europe: Best Practices

Got ya...I have no real plan, but to follow best conditions. If I have to take a day trip to other "near places" Ill do it as well. I guess its sort of moot between Zinal and Vissoie, they are but 15 mins apart. ...barring we're not all vaporized by then.

    First Time Europe: Best Practices

One thing I would ask: if you had your pick, where would you base there? I booked Vissoie (based on Powderhounds) as well as Zinal, which seemed more logical to me. I have a car and I'm usually not in a terrible hurry. (of course this is all subject to change now that there isn't a need to...

Switzerland does not require the Covid Certificate anymore...I have seen this on several places outside of even the Swiss State Webpage. Where you can't even apply for it anymore simply for visiting. This is screenshot from Val Anniviers this: As Tony states, Fernie was very accommodating...

@jamesdeluxe thanks for the update. This stuff is changing fast! I just booked a place in Zinal simply so I could at least to put down a location on the entry form, then saw this...WOW

I have zero perspective on these bc Ive only skied in NA, but most of these numbers do not look reassuring in the least. Is this typical? Low? Or seriously low? https://www.snow-forecast.com/maps/dynamic/alps?type=nav&over=none&symbols=summary.upper_depth

FWIW, I noticed in the past few days when playing with the Swiss entry questionnaire/ tool; it appears that for fully vaxxed travelers coming from USA, DO NOT need any test for entry. I went thru this several times and it always stated the same. The entry form as well as the covid-certificate...

    First Time Europe: Best Practices

After a few weeks of pondering and a few emails to folks, I decided to push EU back to March 5th-15th. I am now going the way of ChrisC and going the Canada route via Kalispell with sights on Fernie and Castle or if need be Lost Trail/Disco/Whitefish kinda thing. The deciding factor was as...

ChrisC Good stuff, thanks for all that. Forget off-piste guides, is there anywhere to hire a EU rules and regs guide?
