I’ll look at flights to Canada today. Now that our first choice has been cancelled there are some good reasons not to travel in the coming few weeks though…… We unfortunately live in what is basically a big country town down the bottom of the earth. No cheap flights last minute for us.

I feel those geniuses behind Epic Fury are pretty keen to find an off ramp now. Maybe Pete didn’t think of all the possible consequences because they don’t have economic and political messes on his Play Station. Qatar just cancelled my flight and there are no flights available with Singapore and...

    Europe 2025/26

Mr Trump seems to be currently building an off ramp so I may still be heading to Europe of the 22nd. Some snow in the forecast apparently. https://wepowder.com/en

Sounds good. I've got to nail down exactly what is happening with my flight to Europe. Hopefully they'll let me know one way or another in the next few days.

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

With the cost of lift tickets in the US coupled with a less than ideal exchange rate I think I’ll stick with Canada. If I had a pass of some kind the US might be in play.

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

I'm feeling that my flights to Milan on the 22nd of this month will be cancelled. I probably won't know until a week before. Alternative flights through Singapore are now crazy expensive so if the existing flights are cancelled I won't be flying to Europe. Are there any reasons I shouldn't fly...

That was the year that the Sierra and Tahoe had 'miracle March' I'm sure. I can still remember the pics of loaded snow at Squaw Valley.

    U.S. Presidency #47

This is the bottom line. Religious extremists with nukes is a recipe for disaster. They'd be too willing to become martyrs and get their 72 virgins....... For sure. There is no clear outcome to all of this. I'm hoping your president 'chickens out' and declares some kind of victory so the whole...

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

Related to this I might have to cancel my Europe trip due to being scheduled to stop for a few hours in a war zone. Alternative last minute flights are likely to be extortionate so I’ll probably look at going late April. I might even consider western North America. @Tony Crocker how is Mt...

    Europe 2025/26

It would be interesting to know if the American visitation numbers have increased in the summer hiking/climbing period too. If not I would say your assumption is correct.

    Europe 2025/26

Makes accommodation very cheap in the months of April, May, June, September, October and November. Early December, most of January and most of March pretty reasonable too.

    Europe 2025/26

It doesn’t look good at all. I bought cheap flights so I can’t cancel and go to another airline (Singapore) that doesn’t go through the Middle East. I’ll have to wait for Qatar to cancel and then try to rebook but the cost of a replacement airfare is understandably already extremely expensive...

Well this is not ideal. I’m due to fly to Europe via the Middle East in less that 3 weeks. I hope team USA has got this Iran situation under control.

I don’t have much experience with rained on snow (that i know of). You’re suggesting snow can be rained on and then dried out to become less dense again? Wind performs this drying out process? I’m assuming light powder snow can never be transformed back to its lovely original texture once it has...

    Project 101: USA Road Trip

Very strange indeed in my opinion. I must admit though that I once did half a day at Alpine Meadows and half a day at Squaw because we were limited for days in the area and I really wanted to see both. It was before they were connected obviously. I guess that fellow's goal is to check off areas...
