Noticed the snow pile at Avila over the last few months when driving by and remembered they had a event planned so went over to check it out. Did not have the boards with me so slid on my shoes. Does that count for a day on the snow :-) . Temps about 90 F.

Can confirm Patrick has it right , fire nothing to do with Alta as a source . Just hope everyone comes back in the fall to keep it going.
