One thing for sure is that if the predictions for the Salt Lake pan out it will be very easy to track how much is lake effect. If the average Alta snowfall drops by 25" (5%) vs 75" (15%) should be very easy to spot in the data. I do recall Alta, Ski Utah, etc... touting lake enhanced snowfall...

I don't buy the waybthat was written. The number of pumps and separate primary lines headed up the hill as well as power requirements makes that wildly unlikely IMO. While it may be impressive numbers (whatever they actually are) there is no way they can run all 1200 guns simultaneously.

As backed up by Tony's data, why do you think there are/were fire lookout towers built in the various mountain ranges in the Northeast? Primarily due to the inconsistent but occasional very dry summers/falls.
