    SNOWBOARDS @ ALTA?

I don't agree with the lawsuit. It's a waste of time and resources. However, I also don't agree with the ban on snowboarding. It's antiquated and if it ever changes under the right circumstances, I will be happy and say it's about time. One board? Two? Who cares. This may all be a moot...

    SNOWBOARDS @ ALTA?

Yeah, that type of terrain I'd probably bail on. There is etiquette out there and I absolutely follow it. If I can pass without moderately or severely hindering others, I'll do it. Otherwise, I'll bail.

    SNOWBOARDS @ ALTA?

Definitely get what you're saying about the "horizontal bump run". Reminds me of parts of Rendezvous Ridge at the Canyons. I compare it to the Cirque because it looks to be a dramatic ridge separating two distinct parts of the resort, with steep runs flowing off either side of it (based on...

    SNOWBOARDS @ ALTA?

Hard to comment since I'm a boarder and I've never ridden Alta. To be honest, you'd probably see a decent amount of undercut traverses, where boarders establish a traverse that is lower on the hill than the skiers' traverses. We don't do this to mess with you, but it's simply impossible for us...

1/19/14: The Alta Powder Posse Invades Park City Mountain

Ohhhh, I see. You meant Jupiter the lift, not the peak. No wonder I couldn't find it. Thanks.

Hmm, Portugese Gap. Where is that in relation to Machete on Jupiter? I am familiar with Machete and Hourglass, but not Portugese Gap. Just curious. Thanks.

I was gonna roll my eyes that they opened Mineral and Little Cloud a day after we were there, but it seems the wind made it less than sublime. We headed out to Pow Mow for our first ever visit and had a blast on the half of the resort that was open. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Snowbird, UT 1/10

I was basing it off of the canyonalerts site, which updated at like 8:45 with "LCC is open". Maybe they are slow to update the site. Either way, the road was far from the worst part of today...... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Snowbird, UT 1/10

Read admin's post on Alta from today, sounds a lot like the Bird. Roads opened late (no surprise), still got up on the hill by like 9:30. Tram closed. Little Cloud closed. Peruvian closed. Mineral closed. We had seen this on Snowbird's site but had hoped it would change. It never did, except...

FYI apparently LCC will be closed tomorrow morning at 645A to reopen at 830A. Which, in my small experience, means 930A.

    This Weekend

I was at Snowbasin on 12/27. They had just opened Strawberry for the first time and it was pretty low tide. Groomers were in good shape and they were still blowing snow. We were able to get the first rope drop of the day (of the season?) on the upper DeMoisy gate that wraps around the...

    Snowbasin, UT 2/2/2013

I was there on Saturday, too. Your description of the snow was pretty accurate, sometimes heavy, sometimes light, sometimes crusty, sometimes not. It was very warm but we were prepared for that since the day before at the Bird was really warm. Anyways, I was on one of (if not the first) Allen...
