    Boots I love - Head Raptor WC-4

Howdy, I've been skiing in the Head Raptor 130 for years. The boots were great for my skiing and they fit like a glove. But two big problems: 1. Since they're a race boot and they fit so tight my feet got cold. Like it could be 20ish degrees and my feet are cold. When I gets really cold I had...

    Skis for Colorado, Powder Versatility

Here is my quiver. Left to right. Head Ventura - 181 - 140/95/126, 16.0m radius 12" or more, powder day only skis. These are old skis. But since I don't ski them but a couple times a year (we don't get big powder days here that often -- once, twice a year at most) they have plenty of days left...

    Grass Sticks poles

Howdy, In the Beaver Creek thread the bamboo poles @Tony Crocker was using one day were spotted. A discussion popped up. I lent Tony those poles one day as his were out of commission. The poles are called Grass Sticks, made by a company in Steamboat Springs, CO. Here's their website...

    Skis for Colorado, Powder Versatility

I thought Peter's reviews were well done. I don't believe they were influenced in anyway, other his own biases of course. I wonder if Peter was first with his style? I also wonder if his was the first popular ski review website? I had nice interactions with him online. I wanted to meet up with...

Thank you brother. I should have joined here years ago! Yeah he loves 'em. It's not that I don't love like them, I just love my Blossom 78's and Head Peak '84's more.

    Skis for Colorado, Powder Versatility

Howdy! It takes a lot of snow for me to be on anything else but my Head Peak 84's or Blossom 78's. And yes, my feeling is still the same about the fat skis. In that, they're not for me. Nor are the reverse camber skis. When I was with Tony and Liz I think I skied my Head Ventura's, which are...

Aspen Highlands, CO, Mar. 27, 2024

Yes this was a glorious day. Highlands is a unique place. I'll note I skied plenty of untracked to lightly tracked powder on the Bowl that day. It takes strong legs and skill to ski Full Curl's fall line or the other steep lines on a deep snow day. I'd say Full Curl is a continuous 38-40...
