    Powder Mountain 2/4/10

Yesterday they were saying a foot of snow, but since then it has been downgraded. Best we can hope for is 3" each of the next few days. Regardless, the skiing out here is still better and cheaper than at home. Paid $49 to ski Powmow and there was plenty of powder, still is.

    Powder Mountain 2/4/10

Definitely not getting tired of the sunny days, especially when there is still plenty of powder to ski. http://harvey44.blogspot.com/2010/01/ut ... -2010.html We are going back tomorrow. Storm coming in for the weekend \:D/

Another Major Snow Storm Heading For?

Northern VT is getting snow. Jay Peak just got 10" Stowe has had 20" in the last week. It can't all be dust on crust. Get in the car and drive north...or hop on a plane and fly west. We are supposed to get some snow here in Utah this weekend. Unfortunately, today's storm was a bust and only...

    Snowbird 2/3/10

We climbed up past the bookend, then traversed out only a little more after the climb, then we went down through a nice steep chute. It kinda looks like the longest shot on that side of MB and was completely shadowed, so the snow was very nice. That was the only climbing we did that day, as we...

    Snowbird 2/3/10

Day 4 often is the physically hardest for me, but I held tough and skied The Bird. It was more of a social ski, but the group split up when some of us wanted to ski more off-piste and others wanted to ski groomers or drink beer. Two of us skied a little harder than the others. Saw Tirolpeter...

    2009-2010 Jackson Hole Snow Reports

My friend from Jackson is here in Utah with me. He got a call on Monday from his friend in JH who said it was an 18" powder day. Things have recovered well there, however, it has probably been baked in the last few days. JH is really only good in an active storm cycle. It just doesn't do well...

    Solitude, UT 2/2/10

Today was one of the best days I've had at Solitude. I think it was because we met a like-minded person who knew how far to go for the goods. There was plenty of nice powder in the woods in short shots, but the big deep untracked lines required some effort which was handsomely rewarded. I needed...

I'm sure you'll have plenty more powder days to come Skidog. I'm feeling quite fortunate that I was able to make the most of this past storm, 3 days of fresh snow. Another system is moving in tomorrow. If you need another powder day, Thursday may be a good one to take off from work. Then...

    NE Gets Screwed Again?

If it wasn't worth it, even to take a chance and book in advance (as I usually do) it is definitely worth it. Even a bad day here can be better than any good day at Greek Peak  The big mountains are remarkable and provide an incredible experience new snow or old snow (but old snow, is...

I don't know the names of all the shots off of Baldy Shoulder (thanks for that info). All I know is that we entered Ballroom to get there and had to schlep up to the top of the traverse to ski that line. It was pretty sweet, even on lap 3 with the other tracks. Snow quality was excellent. We did...

    NE Gets Screwed Again?

I'm in Utah for 8 days of skiing. Lift tix come to about $500 (there are discounts on lift tix at ski shops, super markets and the Utah Super Pass) You can get airfare for $300 if you go after Prez week. I just checked and Delta flies out of Syr for $299. I could have gotten it that cheap for...

Today was incredible. Ballroom and Backside opened and we were in a good position each time. Didn't get many photos during the frenzy, but at least it was a Monday and there weren't so many people. No lift lines all day. Sunshine and lots of fresh powder made for a super day. I did get a few pix...

yeah, hopefully everyone will have it out of their system by the time I get there. I do expect it to be busy though. More snow is in the forecast. The queen shall get some powder. Regardless, it will be better than skiing here right now.

What's with all the attitude? yeesh I'm hopeful that I can get away from LCC for a few days when I'm there, but due to my circumstances, I may be stuck in the crowd with everyone else...at least for part of my trip.

    NE Gets Screwed Again?

This is normal for the NE. This is why I have been taking my vacation during the first week of Feb for the last few years. Experience has told me that this is usually the best time to go (Tony, got any stats for what the best week is to leave the east?). Last year there was a thaw while I was...

Sounds like a zoo! Seems like a trip to Solitude, Powmow or Snowbasin would be in order with those kinds of crowds.

Way to make lemonade! Nice pix! Glad you salvaged your day. I am thrilled to see all that snow out there. I've got 5 days to finish up work here until I head out to The Promised Land. It's raining here. I'm done skiing the east for a while. I'm ready for a vacation in Zion.
