I skied that week in the Zillertal valley in Austria a number of years ago. I was amazed at the coverage given they hadn’t had much natural snow to that point. We got lucky with snow during that week too. I would choose an area that offers some tree cover as well as alpine.

When I skied there a couple of years ago the derelict remains of the bottom station were still proudly in place. Nothing had happened in 5 years.
