    Whitefish Montana 3/18-3/20 2013

Well, I see why you might want whiteout fog and snowing conditions in the spring at Whitefish, but the cold sunny day with a foot of fresh snow on certain aspects was way more enjoyable. The locals were quite gleeful, as it doesn't get that way very often. People are still talking about...

    Whitefish Montana 3/18-3/20 2013

Three powder days included a bluebird day! Super snow, spectacular views fabulous terrain. Last day was a typical Montana day with no views, but lots of new snow. Great way to start off our vacation. My 3 traveling companions, plus Denis Bogan from skivt-l This is Denis, he's in his 70s...

    Greek Peak, NY 12-30-12

Did you hit any rock on Herc? Zeus was much better. I was surprised to see it open today with it being bare at the headwall.

Great response Admin! Why were the lift lines so much longer at The Canyons?

    Greek Peak is making snow!!

They may be opening on Friday. Hopefully all the press didn't scare off too many pass purchases. I always buy mine in the spring. I was not worried. They have to open. The place can make money if only it is managed better. Hopefully they got a better marketing director. Seems like their...

    Killington opens

I skied there a couple of weeks ago and it was quite nice with much more terrain than usual on Veteran's weekend. Upper Downdraft, Upper Double Dipper, Rime, Reason, East Fall, Killink, Lower West Glade (or whatever they call it now), Great Northern, Mousetrap and Bunny Buster. It was 58 degrees...

Mini road trip along the Powder Highway - opinions wanted

If you are more intermediate skiers/riders, I would just make your trip less stressful and stay in the Okanagan. Skip KHMR. It's a really great mountain, big and steep. If you aren't going to ski the steeps there, you can reduce your driving by skiing at Big White, Sun Peaks, Silver Star. I've...

Discount Lift tickets to Gore Mountain MLK weekend

My group is skiing Feb 25-26. We wanted to go the weekend prior, but could not get our lodge for that weekend.

Gore Group on Presidents Day Weekend 2012

I feel your pain. I bring groups to Gore annually, and most years I have last minute cancellations. Gore is usually pretty good with that, but it is best to have people join your group so you at least get a weekend of free skiing for all the effort. I have a group going the following weekend...

    Tahoe 1/30-2/3

I need a powder fix and I'm considering another trip somewhere, when it snows. I can't afford Alaska, but and considering PNW and/or BC. My friend Mark is driving out to Red/WW via Mt Bohemia in a coupla weeks with his sons. His plan was to go to SLC after Red/WW but now is considering other...

Northstar, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley, CA 2/7-8/2012

We had very similar experiences at AM and Squaw with conditions on/off piste. In fact, we disliked Squaw so much we bailed and went to AM for the afternoon where there was much better skiing both on and off piste. We didn't make it to Northstar, though it sounds like it would've been a good...

    Tahoe 1/30-2/3

We booked our luxury house for 10 people back in Sept. We would've lost $2800 had we bailed. Some of the people were thinking about taking the loss ($280 each for the week) and paying the $150 to change flights. But most of us were going no matter and some had even paid in advance for car...

    AltaBird, UT 2/5/12

Yikes! Good to see Amy Z finally on FTO! Amy and I got stuck once at Snowbird during a low snow year on a steep face/cliff in the trees with mostly rock and little snow. We were both a little wigged back then. I think Amy's pretty seasoned by now and this kinda stuff doesn't phase her like it...

    Valhalla Powder Cats 1/17/2012

Love the terrain up there, and the snow can't be beat. We had the same conditions a few years ago and it was simply the best powder skiing I've ever done. It is addicting. When I go back, will definitely go with Valhalla again.

    Whitewater, B.C. Jan. 29-30, 2012

Whitewater is my favorite of all places! Untracked powder all day long. So much great terrain. We never even had to go far to find untracked, even at 3pm! Phenomenal food and a laid back vibe! Longing to go back again.

    Red Mt., B.C., Jan. 27-28, 2012

Love Red Mtn and was wishing we had gone there again this year, after learning that Tahoe had no snow. Luckily Tahoe came through, but I sure got spoiled by all that snow in BC last year. Beer Belly and Cambodia are awesome glades. Love that mountain!

    Tahoe 1/30-2/3

At least it snowed 5' last week. Would've been really bad if that snow hadn't fallen and half the group were going to bail. We had 11 people in the group and we rented a beautiful home near Tahoe City. http://www.tahoehometours.com/tour.asp? ... kBearLodge Everyone showed up with low...
