La Plagne may have some positives to some but that bottle neck where all the runs converge from different directions (Plagne centre I think) is by far the most dangerous ski intersection I've seen.

I don’t wear one when skiing alone but I’ll only ski areas that I can scope out completely with my own eyes or routes that I have skied prior with a guide. And it’s safe to say that generally I would ski less pitchy terrain than you. For a gaper like me a guide is huge piece of mind and great value.
