How was the 73-74 season for Mammoth? I know a strong La Nina generally means a slow start and early spring for Mammoth, but this year seems so extreme that it may have a larger chance to diverge from historical trends.

It's probably even doable by myself, but I don't have access to a car on short notice; hence why I'm dependent on someone else. I'd definitely like to make it happen at least once this season if I know Utah will be getting snow and Mammoth won't.

Trains will get to Briancon, but I'm pretty sure there's no stop in La Grave. If accessibility by train is actually important, then Chamonix and Les Arcs are the two largest areas completely accessible by train from Paris.

Looks like I need to pick my words more carefully! I generally just grab a whole bag of bagels and ask for some cream cheese packets the day before I leave. Then fill up a Nalgene with orange juice, grab a few apples, and you're set on breakfast for a weekend.

That seems quite affordable for SA. It's still a large premium over what a college student like me skis for per day: about $50/day for ticket, gas, lodging, food, transportation for Mammoth, or $10/day for Baldy (no lodging).
