What is a hot tub if not a water heater?

    Tamarack, ID 2/3

A lift servicing an entire terrain pod was taken out. Can't comment on what I couldn't ski. The homeowners association is running the place Th-Su. Sundays are $25 with a season pass from another ski area. When I presented my AltaBird the cashier must have though I was joking. I would...

Flat terrain, crud off-piste, unfinished base area with Tyvek siding. At least is was inexpensive and of interest to students of the financial crisis.

Too bad you missed this one, though the Birthday storm is on our doorstep. Go get it.

I skied Devil's Castle yesterday. Some hardened windslab. Some debris. But really nice in between and very little competition. Was skiing fresh lines on lap 4/ no reason to do the Apron.

    An indecent proposal from Canyons

Actually, Alta is the be all and end all. Deal with the traffic and the lack of women who don't ski as as well as you do and buy the pass. One hassle you won't have to deal with is Marc C. I don't know his skiing habits either, but I can tell you that he either isn't out very often or skiing...

Blackcomb had Alta snow today. Maybe it blew over here? Ski on chairs but that is about to change with the holidays just about here.

A-Basin vs. Ski Cooper for half day?

Given the low snow, would have to factor in the scenery and drive time. A-Basin.

    Mt Bachelor: 11/30 - 12/2, Dumpage!

Things were great at Whistler this weekend/ Cold powder and Harmony opening. Baker has a 90" base. Reports from Crystal are positive. Think the PNW is covered top to bottom at the moment.

First tier ski areas: You can build your house and ski the rest of your life (assuming that you aren't all that young and that global warming doesn't happen as fast as the worst case scenarios). Really just a handful: Alta/Snowbird, Jackson, Whistler/Blackcomb. Second tier ski area: You can...

Park City Mountain and Canyons Resort, UT 11/23/12

If I may, The architecture at Snowbird, while not as charming as a Swiss village, is pretty well thought out. The idea was to minimize the footprint/ the alternative would have been a landscape of tightly clustered low slung single family homes and townhouses completely filling the valley...

This post should lay to rest any suspicion that you are a shill for Ski Utah.

    Seattle

It can be very busy during the holidays. Seattle people get out if the snow is good. Lodging is limited at Crystal, and it makes Snowbird look like Las Vegas. Baker is not all that badass unless you are willing to hike the Shuksan Arm (not a bad hike but there be dragons). The inbounds is...

    Seattle

I live in Seattle and ski here when I am not in Utah. Crystal has best terrain and lifts. Baker gets the most snow. Alpental is steep and fun. I am not a big fan of Stevens. Happy to answer any questions 123deg@gmail.com. Doug

I think the slide for life risk skiing Main Chute is a function of snow surface conditions.
