    Jay Peak panel love

BUMP! The forum went on yesterday (monday) in the hotel Jay. The panel was made of all sorts of Jay customers from die-hard locals to visitors from other Northern Vermont resorts and also from people on both sides of the border... so things were interesting for comparing different viewpoints...

Don't worry, i'm not saying things couldn't be good... I just didn't have fun... Snow was sticky because of the cold... We got there pretty late... No crowds... but still... I didn't bother with the woods... I prefer avoiding them until they get real good... Right now there is too much chances...

Nah... I didn't have fun at all... we got so spoiled that riding in light fluffy snow on top of ice and crud just didn't do it for me... I'll just keep praying for more snow... I did 5 runs on sunday and went back home... Thumbs up to those who enjoyed it... Like i said, we got spoiled in December!

Normally snow making is done by late January, early February... They open the snow park normally around those dates... I don't remember Jay's park to be ready for Xmas holiday... And there is never any contests before middle a February (big air, boarder-cross, rail jam, half pipe). And since...

I don't know... Gee after all, my girlfriend and I do work in that field... Working with the land, integrating your solution to the landscape and all that the environnement has to offer... After all, she's even working for Sutton on different projects! And we both grew up on mountains... And saw...

Unreal w-e! So much deep snow... So many untracked woods! Wow! I was up there both days and couldn't believe it. At some points i was coughing hard on snow getting inside your lungs after a big splash... Everything had good cover and it wasn't hard to find above knee-deep snow after 3PM each...

    Jay Peak 12/04/2007 Champaign!!

Amazing riding today! Saw a lot of friendly faces on the slopes... Normal people with day jobs... that felt sick the second the storm hit! We spent most of our time in the woods lapping the bonnie quad as soon as it opened. Great to ride again with you Ben! Hopefully more snow to come! I'll...

I was there Sat and Sun. Crowds were OK compare to last week... Freezer didn't run today (sun) because they had troubles with the electronic sensors... They still put the chairs on the cable but couldn't get the lift to run... Typicall Jay Peak! Conditions in the woods were great... 10in in...

The sign was posted on top of the Haynes. I understand that most tourists would have blasted down the Haynes even tough it took care to cautiously go down the Haynes because of all the guns blowing snow all over the place... You had to be very careful... You couldn't see more then 3ft in front...

Not such a bad day after all... Jet and Montrealer got icy real quick with everyone on vacation... Not to mention the crowds in the morning... But you kind of expect it when most americans ski on Thanksgiving, Xmas and March break! Haynes was great... It was closed due to snowmaking... but the...

Good Stuff! What was great last week was being able to combine lift access and earned turns into your day... Hopefully we'll get some more snow for tomorrow... IF not, we'll be carving down the Jet on saturday!

Where are the boys from Jay Peak?

I was down there this w-e. Incredible for this early in the game! People (as always) were riding all over the mountain. I didn't venture much in the woods... With no base, it's really dangerous to hit something lying underneath that small layer of snow. Coverage on the trails was amazing... I...

    Quebec skiing this weekend

I went to IKEA instead... didn't feel like making the trip up North... We'll probably go on sunday in the sun! We're leaving early tomorrow morning to earn some turns at Le Massif... Can't wait! Go my split and skins ready to ride! Can't believe there will be 4 of us in a Yaris! That's going to...

Big Jay :: Man arrested for cutting down trees on state land

I "kind of" understant RedEyes' point... If you were skiing the woods at Jay in early 90s, you had powder left all the time and didn't have to "hunt" for it... After Jay got bigger with the Freezer and new Tram, the places got crowded out and loose snow is harder and harder to find... but that...

Big Jay :: Man arrested for cutting down trees on state land

And as i said also, i have no respect for the kind of work he did! It's a disaster for all backcountry enthousiasts! After seeing the slideshow, i can't believe they tried to pull that off!
