    ah! new england!

Harv, I'm in a quandry about where to go this weekend. I have been watching the weather forecasts and it doesn't look like we're in for any big dumps this weekend. I have been looking at Jay, Sugarloaf(on the list to hit), Saddleback (on the list to hit), Wildcat, Sunday River(never been)...

    ah! new england!

Snow Ridge is small but sometimes they get major dumpage. I lived in Cowville...I mean Lowville for about a year and Turin was about 15 miles south. We got a foot in Lowville, Turin (Snow Ridge) got 5 feet...that's right 5 feet... all at once. The area was closed because no one could get to it...

    ESS binding

Nevermind.....there's no way I could get the brakes to fit a wide-waisted ski anyway. Wait...an epiphany.....I've still got leather runaway straps on the Stratos. .......naaaagh.

    ESS binding

Yeah, I know they're old. I didn't realize quite how old until I started trying to figure out when I bought the second pair of 4SK's. I was still living in VT at the time and that was a looong time ago. I figured they weren't indemnifiable. I own a drill and epoxy so I think I'm covered on the...

    ESS binding

I have a question about some bindings I own. I have a pair of barely used ESS bindings (now Atomic) that are mounted on an barely used pair of Rossi 4SK's. Both have been vacationing in my basement furnace room for the last 15 years. These bindings have the ability to easily be moved forward and...

Thanks for the advice guys. I didn't mean to hijack and turn this into a gear thread, my apologies. Steve, congrats on hitting the big "five-O" at Jay.....and Cannon. I've got a couple of days off coming up so I'm taking the fambley skiing again. Head up north somewhere. If we stay in N. Conway...

Good TR Steve. Sounds like you had a great day despite (and because of) the cold temps. I do get cold up there don't it? I've been looking around at new(er) skis this year and would like to demo some Watea 84's, some Mantra's and maybe a Nordica Hot Rod. Your praise of the Dynastar's have me...

    The Dip @ JAy

Thanks very much for the welcome. I'll post if I have something worthwhile (or funny) to say. (Except for my post above, which was neither) I have never skied the Dip even though I've been skiing Jay since 87. I would agree there are a lot of people who get in waaaaay over their head. You hear...

March can be a really great month for snow in the east. St. Patrick's Day dumps are pretty common. We used to joke about it. The snowfalls, though not always light and fluffy, are often plentiful. As far as who will have the best conditions at that time of year is still yet to be determined. It...
