    Site Issue?

I use a Mac, and I was wondering if anyone else uses Safari, which is my go to browser. The forum no longer is working well when I use Safari, but is fine with Firefox. Has anybody else experienced this?

    11/12 Season Reviews

I skied zero days this year: -zero days in powder -zero days on ice -read way too many posts with envy.

Where to spend next winter on a budget?

That is true, very limited, plus when Vail gets a big storm I70 over Vail pass can be a real $H*T Show. Vail is just really pricey, and would most definitely not be my choice for xmas, or for a season if I were to spend the whole season in one spot. If I were you I would most definitely do SLC...

Where to spend next winter on a budget?

I know That Whistler is hardly off the beaten path, but I can't think of a better place to ski xmas week. I've been there then twice, and both times the whole of the two mountains were open, and with the exception of the gondolas in the base village, I found the lift lines completely manageable...

    Eastern Closing Thread 2011-2012

Nope, it's over. Perhaps the worst ski season on the EC in my lifetime. Didn't really hit it, but good riddance.

I like that imagery. :-) Highboy? I think that entrance at the top of Main is pretty steep, it seems steeper than 41 degrees. However, it doesn't seem to narrow. I remember that "little" has a dogleg right, and that there is pretty tight choke point a ways down. Main doesn't seem as...

Where to spend next winter on a budget?

Aspen/Snowmass is most definitely not too bad for skier density, but it doesn't get the snow that Vail does. Also, it's not cheap. I will say the terrain there is better than Summit County with the exception of Flatmass. As you all know, I'm not a big fan of Steamboat at all, but it is a great...

So if you fall on the skiers right of the chute is it a fast ride down to ballroom or are you going to make friends with some rocks?

From the angle of camera it seems like Main Chute turns off right towards the bottom, is that correct? I always thought it was a straight shot down into ballroom.

Question about Spring Aspects and Corn

This is hilarious! I find it so funny that these little explosive arguments break out on this forum all the time. The funniest part is when I actually met those members with whom I've gotten into it. These nameless "pr!Ck$" became really nice people and I totally regretted the obnoxious tenor I...

    4-7-12--snowbasin

I love that Bobby Danger always hits up Snowbasin... and he always gets the goods. One of these years I gotta go there with Utards and hit it right.

Question about Spring Aspects and Corn

Oddly enough the best corn I ever had was at snowbasin in late February. It was at the bottom far skiers right, late afternoon. It looked like untracked powder, and it probably was earlier that week, except that it had a sheen on the top. It wasn't very steep but still very nice. That time I got...

Question about Spring Aspects and Corn

Corn is my second favorite condition behind only powder. It is a question of timing and aspect, but certainly is hero snow.... and it often comes with a t-shirt.

    Introducing Mountain Rider's Alliance

I thought one of the problems that MRA wanted to address is the economics of skiing, making it cheaper for the average folk? This is one of the conundrums in skiing: the cheaper it is, the more skiers there are. The more skiers there are, the more degraded the experience becomes. Tricky...

    Introducing Mountain Rider's Alliance

Hence I wrote this: I'm just saying that most of your writings turn me off a bit. They make me feel like an outsider, and I'm way more passionate about this sport than most people who live in big cities away from the mountains... I think you come off as extolling a holier than now attitude...

That is awesome!!! I just love hearing the internal battle. I for one wouldn't jump off that. Very Killer.

    Dry and Partially Dry Counties

Why would you want other skiers to know that? I think the misconception about Utah is great, it keeps Colorado filled, and more powder lines open.

    Introducing Mountain Rider's Alliance

Fair enough, but based on your writings it certainly seems you value locals over tourists. That's fair, and will certainly sit well in any community that is around your mountains, but given the cost quoted in your most recent article for start up fees I remain skeptical that it is great business...
