    Mad River Glen, VT 2014-03-17

Day 2 of 6, St. Patricks Day - $17 lift ticket specials at both MRG (must be wearing green) and Mt. Ellen - plan A is for MRG and if I show up and the place is packed then plan B is Mt. Ellen. Got to the hill around 9:30 having taken the ferry across from Plattsburgh and the parking lot was...

    Whiteface 2014-03-16

Day 1 of a 6 day trip. Super Sunday promotion for St. Patrick's Day - $40 lift tickets. Crowded (for Whiteface) so I spent most of the day avoiding the busy gondola line up. The temps pretty cold - getting sick of skiing wearing a face mask. Trail reports from the hill had 2" of snow over...

    Stowe 2014-03-21

Thanks - I only post from the bigger mountains I get to. (So if you can use you clout as Admin to have resorts across North America sponsor junkets for me I'd me more than happy to post about it!)

    Magic, Vt 2014-03-20

Day 5 of a 6 day trip. I usually don't consider skiing southern Vermont hills but after speaking with one of the "Ski Vermont" reps at the Toronto Ski show this past fall she suggested that if I really liked MRG then I should give Magic a try. Turns out they have a $15 Thursday lift ticket...

    Stowe 2014-03-21

More like 6 hours by the time you cross the border and tank up, but then again it's relative... In order to ski the tallest "mountain" in Ontario it's going to take me nearly 3 hrs driving for 700' vertical and no comparison regarding terrain. (Not to mention not having to put up with sharing...

    Stowe 2014-03-21

It's a promotion I've taken advantage of the last few years. It's even better if you combine it by getting signed up for the Ski NY mailing list (http://www.iskiny.com/) The last few years I've taken advantage of their "NY State Ski days" (usually the 3rd Thursday in Dec and he 2nd Thursday in...

    Stowe 2014-03-21

I was taking advantage of "Ski & Ride with the Point" day - so it was $5 for the button/coupon book (I'd already used one of he coupons for 1/2 off at Sugarbush in January), $44 for lifts and $5 for the RFID "evolution" card. Thus, actual cost at the hill (with coupon) was $49.

    Stowe 2014-03-21

Last day of a 6 day trip - seems like I'd saved the best for last. (planned - Ski & Ride with the Point day - 1/2 price lift ticket.) Driving up I95 from Magic the day before I could see Mt. Mansfield shrouded in snow in the distance. Stayed on the road close to the mountain (Northern Lights...

    TR - Sugarbush 2014-01-10

Day 2 of the mini-trip east. An early ferry ride from Plattsburgh got me to Sugarbush by 9:30 am for Ski & Ride with the Point day. Windy, with snow falling. The main (Super Bravo) and top (Heavens Gate) lifts were on wind hold so I started my day on the North Lynx side. Full marks to the...

    TR - Whiteface 2014-01-09

I get lots of e-mails from resorts advertising deals on lifts but I just couldn't resist the siren song of a $12 ticket on NY State ski day. (2014-01-09) The morning was spent skiing Little Whiteface since the summit quad was on wind hold. Actually, with the crisp morning air, riding the...

    Stowe 20130-03-22

Great trip reports. I would agree that some years that's what you get in March. Mind you I have the advantage that I'm driving, so I can usually delay a day or two or skip a day that I know will be brutal and act like a tourist instead. It's rare these days that I would book rooms more than...

    Stowe 20130-03-22

Anthony: For the last 5 years every non-holiday Wednesday is Coke day at Whiteface - you show up with a coke product and the lift ticket is half price. Bring an empty as they take it away from you. This deal is for both ORDA run mountains so it applies at Gore as well. They also have...

    Stowe 20130-03-22

It was absolute luck as far as planning for conditions. The whole trip was predicated on discount days at the hills involved. (The 3 days of lift tickets cost me $118 USD.) I've done variants of this trip for the past 3 years, always anchored with the Friday at Stowe. Two years ago I had...

    Stowe 20130-03-22

My favorite mountain in the east, well over a foot of snow in the past 48 hrs (2"-3" inches overnight) and half price lift tickets thanks to Ski & Ride with The Point day. Certainly the most pleasant, laid-back vibe I'd ever felt at Stowe. Conditions so good that everyone on each chair /...

    Mt. Ellen (Sugarbush) 2013-03-21

Hadn't skied this place since Ontario high school Spring Break 1978 - at that time Sugrbush had just purchased the place and renamed it "Sugarbush North." Their $30 Thursday deal got me back... Conditions appeared to be at mid-winter peak. Going up the summit chair with a Ski Patroller...

    Whiteface - 2013-03-20

Day one of a 3 day road trip. My first day skiing full-time on pair of 2 yr old demo skis I'd bought a couple of weeks earlier - Atomic Nomad Crimson Ti's. Between the powder and the crud, I ain't never going back to skinny GS racing skis again... Lots of fresh snow on the mountain although...

Ontario TR 2013-01-19 - Lakeridge Resort

Harvey44 said to post from Ontario - well welcome to the flatlands... First some background: It's the start of a 6 week ski/snowboard program with a local United Way Agency aimed at kids and families. You get 6 weeks of Saturday evening skiing (3:30-930), a one hour group lesson, and if you...

Thanks, I "lurk" regularly, but I don't post often because I only get outside of Ontario to ski a couple times a year.

    Sugarbush 2013-01-11

Day 2 of the mini trip - Sugarbush, Vermont. It was "Ski & Ride with the Point" day at Sugarbush so the day started with a brief side trip to the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters store in Waterbury to pickup our buttons & coupon book. (Plus bags of coffee for me.) Neither my youngest nor my...
