I dont understand the multiple ski areas in 1 day. It seems like taking a run at each place and move to the next. Seems to take the fun out of it. The closest I have gotten to this was the ski Utah Interconnect, but that was about skiing all the resorts including the backcountry routes...

I was hearing a few reasons when I was at Mustang a few weeks ago that included injuries and newborn arrivals (booking 1 year out, prior to conception, may factor in here). I also suspect costs are starting to factor in as well as current global politics.

Dec was very warm and Vail bowls face south. I suspect November and early December snow melted potentially down to the ground. January looks like it has been seasonal. Hopefully no more melting.

This calls for the special cold weather gear that I usually reserve for Tremblant and Lake Louise. Have you tried frost tape for your exposed face? Boot gloves, glove liners, under the mitts with hand warmers in between? I also add an extra arteryx midlayer on the top and bottom for this.

Perhaps a diversion to ski the east is in order. I think everywhere on the eastern half of the continent is in good shape.
