I'm doing a Tony Crocker and shooting from the hip from 6000 miles..... First off I'm not 100% sure when they plan on having the road open, my understanding is that the road itself is there as they use it during the summer for the bike park which uses the Silver Chief lift. My understanding is...

    Season 2015-16 Plans

Right, that's the first part of the plan laid down. I Fly out from Aberdeen on Thursday March 3rd leaving at 6am. I could have left at 9am but wanted both the security of getting out of Aberdeen on the 1st flight of the day along with having a longer stopover in Minneapolis again. I thoroughly...

    Season 2015-16 Plans

Been to LL and Banff and a few other Canadian resorts. I will 100% not be going back to Lake Louise. Not my cup of tea in the slightest. My only deviation from Montana/Bachelor would likely be Utah.

    Season 2015-16 Plans

As of yet I have no firm plans as the cost of flights over are still on the high side and return route via Minneapolis and Amsterdam for some reason not in the ballpark. I will bide my time for now. However, this year I am stuck between a couple choices. Either will be a 5-6 week trip and...

Anaconda has a pretty poor reputation from what I gather but the few bars I've been in are ok. The Harp is owned by a guy that skis a lot at Discovery and they give you your 2nd beer free with a Disco lift ticket. Certainly seems to be plenty lodging options when I drive through town. There...

Arctic Heliskiing, Iceland, March 26, 2015

I notice that one of the sheep references is very much named for someone from my home town. Supporters of Aberdeen FC are known as sheep shaggers!

Brilliant report. Looks like a fair bit of potential. Reminds me more of skiing in Scotland that Whitetooth though with the open terrain rather than trees.

    Alta, UT closing day 4/26/2015

Im amazed that I managed to get in just over 1/2 your total. That shows what a season it was. I'm going to write up something in the coming weeks and post on here this year.

    Mt Bachelor 4/15/15 Primo Blue

After a couple laps on Summit we descended back to lapping Outback which was the best skiing I have had this year. We did similar on the 16th also for my last lift serviced day of my trip. Tomorrow I am hiking for turns before returning home on Tuesday. Bring on 2016!

    Mt Bachelor 4/14/15

I concur. 2-4" barely raised a smile when I checked the snow report. Knee deep and face shots all day. Lapped the traverse from Outback over to Northwest all day with 2 ski instructors. Great day.

    Mt Bachelor April 9, 2015

1-3" tonight and 1-3" tomorrow and snow Tuesday. Timed my visit to see a friend perfectly. That lump of ice is incredible, would love to have seen it happen, from a distance!

I'm getting a lot of mileage into a very skinny winter, backside of Discovery is skiing at times as good as ever. Then there is whisky and beer so all good.

46 Days? I'm catching you quick......... Day 11 at Discovery, 4" new. Lapped Limelight from 10am rope drop to the close. Skied hard.

    Deer Valley, UT 3/15/2015

I don't exist either so nobody should be concerned. Day 8 here at Discovery MT. Lean snow to say the least but a lot of fun nonetheless. Limelight lift has been incredibly good all things considered including last Sunday's top to bottom all day rain event. There is always scotch in a box, what...

Yeah, 8pm I think is plenty late enough, its a nice spot and generally a nice crowd of people whenever I have been in. Opening later would just add to problems I think. Nice one, I will PM my US number once I confirm it still works. I'm in Pburg from 13th right thru the 5th April so can easily...

haha, 3 beers per day, open 10am til 8pm. They give you a card with 3 pint glasses on it and when you order one it is crossed off. It is almost impossible to enforce with change of shifts and such like but my experience has always been that common sense is used by the bar staff. Great pics tseeb.

haha, I can also confirm I exist  coldsmoke, I will be there March 13th thru closing if you are kicking around let me know. I might also be at Big Sky for the last few days of their season but not yet sure on that one, will see how conditions are at Mt Bachelor and decide if I want to...

jamesdeluxe, I would very much recommend making a visit to the mountains you mention, Turner is the only I have yet to visit in the State. Always been denied by weather/schedule. The road has been on the cards for many years and I believe that as the Pitcher's own the land they were able to...
