I agree with you but I will say at $25 for a lift ticket AND new high speed quad AND slide peak IS open AND there's less driving involved, it's a great option for some midweek turns. Back in the day when nearly everyone skied, slide peak would get some nice big volkswagon bus sized moguls...

i agree about your observations there are too many locals who are "on it" .... i guess my only question is, what marketing department doesn't pimp their resort out? the internet has changed the face of ski reporting. gone are the days of using a landline to get the ski report updated at 530...

If you want to watch a really cool flick, look for "Dog Days of Winter" on Amazon Prime (Prime Video). Obviously "Dog" refers to the "Hot Dogs" who pioneered freestyle skiing. Requires a subscription to Amazon Prime. It's the history of freestyle skiing -- with great reels from the 60's...

thanks for the TR, Tony. Ah Geronimo........do you remember the season when they built that lift? I remember skiing it for the first season ...maybe like 1990 or so (Goldmine)? I remember feeling so accomplished skiing down it -- as it was probably one of the steepest runs in SoCal...

one of the best kept secrets and hidden gems in the country is about to change, not for the better IMO powmow doesn't offer the thrill of the cirque but the no "powder pressure" that TC highlights makes up for it. love the new terrain as of last year but fearful of paradise/eden lost....

Well I'll be damned. First time I'm going to call b.s. on something by Tony .... but to his defense, he hasn't been there since the Revelation lift was built. I saw very hefty lift lines on Revelation last year when I was there. Reminded me of Mineral Basin on a weekend bluebird powder...
