    The NYC/Baseball Hijack

Agreed. I just felt like reading some Wikipedia and apparently it's been known as the national pastime since 1856. Was Utah even a state then?

    The NYC/Baseball Hijack

    1. East coast summers can't be classified as "east coast summers", just like skiing in Vermont vs. PA is vastly different, so are their summers. Just like Admin says Utah summers are better than winters I think most people would feel the same about Vermont. 2. Baseball is a great game 3. The...

Utah's biggest storm of the season?

It's always fun to watch you guys bicker about Alta vs. the Bird. :sabre fight: And also, :worthless: (I just wanted to use those cool graphics, but seriously...)

Always a good day with BobbyD, especially when you've got a fresh foot! But I'm suprised you weren't skiing things this steep

    Brighton, UT 04/01/09

For 52 dollars or whatever it costs to ski Solitude/Snowbasin I see no reason not to with comparable snowfall on busy days if someone can afford to pay for the day ticket. I'm with Tony here, but I'm used to not competing for snow in VT so I'm a bit biased I guess.

Is the East Coast season finished? (powder-wise, that is)

Stowe still has 0 to no bare patches on all the trails I skied yesterday, and reporting 79 inches at the stake. If we get a storm we'll be in good shape.

Five feet of snow this week at Utah

    Solitude? Snowbasin? Brighton?

Is the East Coast season finished? (powder-wise, that is)

Stowe reopened most terrain today after the warm temps last night. I think they're fast to close these trails recently because they haven't been getting sufficiently soft to be "safe". To those saying that this season has been average or below, you just weren't skiing in the right places...

    Utah the past 10 days

Some words from my mom: “I’m the only college kid who goes on spring break every year with my parents”. That’s how our trip planning began but it quickly turned into a week of friends, powder and bluebird skies. Our first ski day at Alta, Kay (Jtran’s mom),Arnie (his dad) and John H...

I think you missed out on an even bigger group at Alta Sunday. We were about 15 or so for the first couple runs in the morning.

A Season in New Zealand: Summer 2008

Nothing averages a lot, but that's because of the high variability. Last winter was excellent, snowed consistently every other day for a month straight. Some winters it just doesn't snow. I have no clue, but I'd say we got at least 300 inches this past winter. Treble Cone was a fun area, but...
