    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

For the very cold (under -10) its essentially adding an additional layer everywhere. My boots are plug boots and have liner that is only marginally thicker than a sock. Adding the neoprene boot glove in addition to the boot heaters makes a big difference on the very cold days.

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

Boot heaters or heated socks, boot glove, down mittens, glove liners, balaclava and neck warmer. It takes some new stuff. I still struggle with the low angle flat light in BC in January. Its almost like the sun barely gets above the horizon and combined with constant cloud cover the light...

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

Snow reports for Lake Louise already look like the majority of the terrain is open with well above average snowfall. Also you could always head 3 hours west over the rogers pass and ski Revelstoke on the same trip. Looks like upper mountain has had good snowfall, but lower has had more rain...

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

Technically I am dual citizen but I have now been in Canada for 17 years. I am originally from Pennsylvania and grew up skiing the icy Poconos, before moving to the Midwest. Ohio and Michigan were terrible places to be as a skier except for the access to the airport. Now much of my family...

Where are you going this season (25/26)?

January 16-18 dates may have 2 open seats. Let me or EMSC know if you are interested. I will still be going.

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

The primary trails are generally snowmaking dependent for opening in November/December, however they have extensive glades that are natural snow dependent and some trails get snowmaking if natural snow is adequate. Glades started opening early this year at the end of November and are...

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

I have skied LL many times in January and Tony is right. It can be cold. It can still be excellent skiing and if you are prepared for the cold, you can certainly enjoy it. However you cant dress like warmer areas and expect to have a nice time. If below 0F, plan to bring an extra mid-layer...

    Western North America Conditions 2025/26

I very much appreciate your regular snowfall data and find it very helpful. As a frequent skier to Mont Tremblant, I have always wondered why you don’t include their snow info in your report?

    Google Maps Ski-Area Overlay

However open ski map is missing the roads and hotels. The google maps is useful for trip planning including hotels, parking lots, etc. I recall Zermatt being challenging to figure out without google maps having the trails and lifts.

East half of the country, but no car is required at Tremblant. They have a very nice pedestrian village complete with lodging.

    Google Maps Ski-Area Overlay

I did a quick check, many are back, but some are missing. No lifts appear at Red Mountain, BC, however they are present at Revelstoke, Blue and Tremblant.

    Mont Tremblant 2025-26 Season

I have seen it on resort apps, however not other signs. 85% of Tremblant's terrain is also accessible from the summit, therefore the sign placement is very helpful to determine where to go.

    Mont Tremblant 2025-26 Season

The signs certainly been there a long and continues to serve the purpose of providing lift line duration well, however the section with the temperature could use some updating as it has some malfunctioning sections in the numbers. Yesterday I was thinking it may be time for them to update some...

    Mont Tremblant 2025-26 Season

i wouldn’t usually make the 6 hr drive to Tremblant for opening day, however my son has a hockey tournament in Ottawa this weekend. Therefore we decided to add a day of skiing. Despite rain the day before, conditions were relatively good for the first day of the season. Rain had...

    Europe 2025/26

2 winters ago, I was able to find a very nice moderately priced hotels 3 minutes walk to the gondola on the south side of town. Most hotels also include breakfast. I found the most expensive costs in Switzerland to be the food and not the lodging. The other challenge will be an...

Abasin opens for 2025-26 on Oct 26

I find it interesting that Copper Mtn is such an established training center, however I can’t recall them ever hosting a WC event.

Abasin opens for 2025-26 on Oct 26

I am not following this. Europe has so much more early season skiing on glaciers, why are they coming to NA?
