Tony, how were you able to book those dates at Portillo? The website only allows mini weeks starting on wednesdays or saturdays which can be a constraint. Maybe that time of year they are more flexible?

The Portillo miniweek I could feasibly do ~8/15 seems to already be sold out. In fact that whole week seems to be mostly sold out other than suites which are out of my price range. I'd imagine these are all recent bookings. Too bad, direct flights from JFK are ~850$ which seems pretty reasonable.

Both my trips have been in late August in years following big July storms like this. I’ve always gotten impression that is spring skiing and it’s tough to imagine the season lingering on much longer than that.

Ive been following Portillio forecasts each summer for a decade and while sometimes they are outlandish this one is at another level. Will have to wait and see how things shake out but its entirely possible August in Portillo is worthwhile this year.
