LOL. Here's the article after Google's online translation. I really want to try the crossbow lift!
After a few years of tergiversation, the sympathetic nerve ski resort of the Glen Mount closed in 2004 found new purchasers. The property developer Maryo Lamothe indeed has just become...
I'm going making a trip to Jay next week and am deciding between a Monday and Tuesday night trip, or pushing it back a day or so. The weather forecast Saturday to Tuesday in Ottawa is for above frezzing temperatures, but I can only get Jay info to Satruday.
Any information whether Jay will...
With trails, I wasn't including the glades, we only venture into the baby green glades. I decided to not go, the dice are loaded to heavy to pull them from school. We'll be at Tremblant Sunday, even though they only got 5". grrr.
I called Jay at 2:30 this afternoon to try and get an idea what the likt situation may be like tomorrow. All they could say is that it is day to day. I asked about the weather forecast for tomorrow and if they had an idea what the winds may be like, and was told they heard it might be like...
You called it Big Jay, Jay Peak only has 3 of 8 lifts operating and says the Tram and Freezer will be down all day.
Any idea of what thoughts of what tomorrow may be like? I hope that there is enough snow that the trails won't be blown down to base, and would appreciate any input from the...
Tremblant yesterday (Jan. 03) Soleil side closed, Duncan Express closed so longer two lift ride to top of North Side. Expo icing up somewhat. Lots of snow being made all over the south side and blacks in good hape on that side. Overall snow in good shape, liftlines minimal as expected on a...
Nice Valentines package for folks in the area (postal codes starting with a H, J, K, G or M) from Grey Rocks. 1 nights lodging with 2 lift tickets and 2 meals for $65 from Feb. 14 to 16. The tickets are good for Gray Rocks and Mont Blanc.

VALENTINE'S...
It's also what you know and experience. I grew up in Sudbury and skied at the Onaping ski hill and was happy with it since I didn't know any other ski experience. They don't make any snow but bet they could teach some of the big guys something about packing and perserving what you've got...
True enough in a lot of situations. It also depends on the trip and the situation. With a family my lift ticket costs are always X3. Since we had a local MSSI membership Jay only cost $76 CDN total for three of us to ski each day. Even without the MSSI deal, Jay tickets could be had for...
Sugarbush aside, the basic point is valid. There have been posts this year about next to no runs open and hills charging full price.
People aren't impressed and if it's really bad the customer feels gouged. That's a business decision for the operators. Gouge now to maximize short term...
Gonna follow-up on Patrick's post. I got the kids up to Edelweiss on Saturday the 20th. Conditions were similar to Tremblant. Very BRRRR but decent snow. -16 C and stiff winds at 10:30 am.
The greeens on the left and Zoomer were open for the morning but Zoomer was taken offline soon after...
Nice summary Ono. Jay is supposed to be expanding to the East over the next few years. I really hope that the trail cuts make snow perservation a priority. It appears that should be a good location with protection from the wind but in the main snow dump area.
I thought I saw the no "lunch box" signs on the bottom floor too, but that was probably only for only part. It was pretty well ignored and at least people weren't being busted. I'm glad there was some refuge for those with a few cubes of cheese from home. I in shock when I say the signs...
Thanks for that and the local info Patrick. Not a Tremblant McMountain fan but they do have the runs this season, so kudos where it's due. I also note you only mention icy conditions once, which isn't bad. After all the ice battles of last season that would be like velvet.
On the North...
I hope the cold weather means the corner has been turned. Some snow around Ottawa to go with the cold would be nice. ...and Tremblant's deep pockets go further with an electricity subsidy. Hope to get the kids out next weekend too.
I noticed that during the snow drought Tremblant had a lot higher percentage of its runs open, pretty impressive compared to most places actually. I was talking to a hardcore skier at work and he laughed and said they have a special deal on hydro rates from Quebec Hydro and can afford to blow...
