Tremblant, QC - April 17, 2006 - Last day and rant

No kidding. The BIG SLOW SKIING sign wasn't a clue for him. And if your going to bomb, stay very wide. I like the idea of packing a paintball gun, so he's marked a jerk for the day. Of course, that is after using a tazer to slow down your target.

I wonder if it also due to the rise in terrain parks. Bumps and a few jumps were the terrain parks, now you have runs been taken out of commision for parks, plus other runs for bumps. Bit of a backlash maybe?

Tremblant, QC - April 17, 2006 - Last day and rant

LOL. I know that one very well. Funny how you can flip trying to to keep an eye in front and behind yourself at the same time. My guys are older and thankfully we are almost past that stage.

Tremblant, QC - April 17, 2006 - Last day and rant

OK, it just wasn't me and my old legs and knees going slow at the end of the season. On my only trip there it seemed like there were more boomers there on than I experienced anywhere else this year. One trip down Beauvallon and I wrote it off as a mega-lane expressway run. Once off the...

    Solitude, UT 4/8/06

Yes, I can see the counterfit part, and also knowing the exact loading of lifts by time of day. It also provides a boat load of specific personal demographic info for pass holders that are tracked for the entire season for days skied, preferred days, lifts taken, how long a break they took...

That's pretty neat. Have to say I was taken aback at Tremblant when they barcode scan your ticket every time you get on a lift - very big brotherish. I definately felt part of the Intrawest Marketing Machine. Since it's being tracked, I hope they make this kind of data available.

Thanks for the pics and video. Hard to believe that was in April, looks like winter. 2000' vertical, no crowds and fresh snow. Totally green with envy. Nice pic of the lodge too:

    Tremblant at Easter?

Expo had plenty of snow and bumps last Friday. It should hold up as well as any runs. Tremblant is claiming 9 inches of snow the last 2 days.

    Tremblant aka Happyville - 03/31

Day off, Daughter's school was off so we drove the 2 hours to Tremblant. Arrived around 8:30 and got a nice spot near the Soliel feeder lift. This shot is from our parking spot in P2. You take this short lift and a transit run to the main lift areas. Worked out pretty well but the...

    Mont Tremblant Lift Tickets

Not sure on the board's policy regarding posts with tickets, so if I'm in violation, please delete this. I will be picking up some Mont Tremblant tickets tomorrow or Wed., and will have a couple of extras. Price is great at $26 CDN each for adult tickets. I'm in Ottawa if anyone is...

    Edelweiss, QC - March 22-23, 2006 - Night Skiing

I'll definately try to get out Sunday. I hope there is some corn, that would be fun. Of course, if they close soon, means my season pass is honoured any MSSI hill that is open, including Jay.

    Jay, VT: 03/18/06

I'm sure Jay doesn't want folks having a bad experience and works with them. That said, I got nailed last weekend. The cheesy part was it was in about a 200 metre section of State highway where there are about 2-3 houses to one side, and BEFORE the turn off the highway through the actual...

Laurentian ( Quebec ) Tremblant to MSSI Report

Patrick, in the Killington thread you said you skied last night. Was that local? If so, how was it. I was out Wed. of March break and Strief was knee destroying washboard concrete with virtually no snow on it. The blues had a bit a snow that let the kids have some fun. Has it softened up...

    Jay, VT: 03/18/06

That's about they way I saw and heard it. I was there on Friday and Saturday and met some foks who were in for the week. Wednesday was good+, Thursday stellar, and Friday very good. They said on Thursday the snow was mid-calf on most groomed trails, which got packed down for Friday...

    Upslope Snowfall Forecast From Tonight-Thursday

Many thanks. We'll be at Jay Saturday. On Jay's site, it is calling for a foot by the weekend, accumulating to 20" by early next week. But that is not one dump, so how much will be blown away? Hopefully enough is on the groomers to have those all open this weekend.
