Make Bambi pay for it. Sorry. Couldn't help myself. :)

    Wildlife In Populated Regions

Just jokes. I know very little about guns but my brother is a sporting shooter and I sometimes go with him to cull feral animals and roos on a property a few hundred miles from here. Those are the brands of guns he has.

Sure. But something must be up with that model plane because all five of us had the same problem going over and returning to Oz.

    ski-air travel stories

I think it was 90 minutes which we have done before many times stopping in LA to go to Salt Lake. We did have to claim luggage and to be honest we had forgotten about that because the last time we had to do it was before covid. The only other time we've gone to the US since then was with Air...

How could you?😂 Edit. And don’t you have a Winchester or Browning or Ruger branded something like everyone else? Second amendment and all….

Naive I know but until last December it would not have dawned on me that they would sell a flight with a dubious connection. I now know.

United at Christmas was a new low for me. The flight from Brisbane was delayed into San Francisco to we missed the connecting flight to SLC. The chap at the ‘service’ desk told me I was silly to book the flight. I pointed out we were ticketed from Brisbane to Salt Lake with them alone and booked...

    American Election 2024

Is there a sense of the start of a turning tide on the ground over there? Obviously the No Kings demonstrators would have been Democrat voters in November. Any suggestion that he has lost a semi significant portion of his MAGA base yet?

    Oz/NZ 2025

Nice work Tony. Some bucket list locations in there. Some of those offered the huge reward of skiing virgin snow on the way down though. That makes the climb so much easier.

    Pila, Italy: April 5, 2025

I'm glad you as an expert liked it as much as I an intermediate did. I thought it a very under rated mountain and I'd be happy to go back again as long as it was mid week.

    Oz/NZ 2025

Very impressive given the peak elevation is 10000 feet. At a top elevation of 1300 metres Mount Barney doesn’t rob you of oxygen like Mt Rainier would.

Which is why I’m helping her train for Mount Barney. She’ll have 4000 ft (1234 metres) vertical rise to tackle when we do that in a few weeks. And back down the same day…..

    Oz/NZ 2025

Not skiing but anyway. I’m trying to help Kylie be fit enough to climb Mount Barney as a day hike sometime soon. It’s quite a challenge with an elevation gain of 1234 metres over sometimes very difficult terrain. Yesterday we climbed Mount Greville that has a gain of about half that. The climb...

I was thinking more about your post. I keep seeing amazing places that I had previously not known about. I’m absolutely convinced that the USA is the number nation on the planet for diverse natural beauty. If there is another nation that can match it please let me know. You folk are so fortunate...

    With $100k annual travel budget...

Certainly not trolling. To be clear - generally Aussies get 4 weeks paid leave per annum. Kylie has negotiated another 2 weeks of unpaid leave. The total being 6 weeks. I am paid commission only. No base salary. No sick pay. No holiday pay. My 8 weeks a year holiday probably costs me at least...

From an outsider’s perspective it seems to me you have a pretty sweet existence as it is @jimk From my own viewpoint it’s not a budget that’s restrictive as much as time. I’ve got a 44 week commitment to the owner of the business I work out of and my wife can only get 6 weeks off work per...
