    Banff/Lake Louise late February?

https://banfftours.com/activities/johnston-canyon/ If you get a spare couple of hours off skis that is well worth doing in my opinion.

Hiking and MTB in the Dolomites: September 2025

Food looks lovely - particularly the venison. And those beans would be in grave danger if I was in attendance.

I have a difficult time in Europe. My brain struggles that there is no green on that schnitzel plate.

The hotel looks great but ultimately out of my tight arse league. Have you found the food to be mainly German based or Italian or a mix? When we stayed in Arabba just prior to Covid the language spoken at the hotel was Italian and the food had a distinct Italian bent. There is a suggestion that...

I’ve seen the videos too but generally they are not at all aggressive. I’ve certainly never experienced any issues with them.

I plan to do just that next year. It looks beautiful. That’s Alpe Di Siusi? And you got the gondola up from Ortesei? Did you hire the bikes at the bottom of the gondola?

I played at Mount Coolum course today. It’s not St Andrews but it is scenic in it’s own way. Kangaroos in the foreground.

I’m noting the warm clothing. It’s T shirt weather in the middle of the day in the valley?

    Wildlife In Populated Regions

I’m pretty sure it’s a carpet python. Non aggressive and not venomous to my knowledge. As Tony says we have very deadly blacks, browns and tiger snakes in our locality.

Just reading this 'report' again because Patrick is there now. I must have missed the above. Wow. Saves me a long and costly trip. :)

    Oz/NZ 2025

I had a great day there last year with a couple of older chaps hosting a 'mountain tour'. It only went for a couple of hours but I skied with them all day. Had some nice fresh to play in. About 5 inches from memory.

    Europe 2025/26

Thredbo is about 1200 acres from memory. I’m very familiar with its size. It certainly feels smaller than Pila to me. I understand my thoughts are not exactly scientific.

    Europe 2025/26

I would have thought it would be larger than 3800 acres combined. Maybe it doesn’t include off piste areas???
