It seems within the past couple of years that the title of who opens first and closes last doesn't seem to matter to the corporations who run the big ski areas, while the smaller ones won't commit until the ground starts to freeze over. On that note, here's a pix from Sunday River that I found...

Actually, it is a pretty sweet area for all levels. They are the place that has 'the wall' which is a pretty decent drop. It has the original lift from the main area. It's fun to watch people take a look at the wall, then decide to drop in or not.... 52 trails, and the back area is only open...

Used to be a 'small' ski area south of Buffalo, NY called Holiday Valley. They had a sweet deal for night skiers. You could start at 3 pm and ski until 10 pm and 85% of the area was open. Now it's Cannon, Gruntstock, and the mid NH areas.
