Last year, I also went to Alta on march 16. It was ice, hard texture, crusty snow, unskiable. This year is a little bit different : powder in the morning / spring skiing conditions in the afternoon. Well, it's a world of differences between last year and now.

More : once again, I found another new major gladed line. It's a big extreme one between 2 extreme trails, but with 2 feet of untracked powder, it was excellent, yesterday morning... but too rough for the knees, in the afternoon

A little bit crowded compared to usually, but never more than 2-3 minutes of waiting. Many skiers on their first visit can't belive the terrain they got just for them ! it's always like that the first time there...

Nice sky to take some pics...

The center trail : when I tell you it's a moguls ski area... but the right part of the lower trail was groomed at least.

One of the last remaining classic expert trails in Quebec : "Superspeed". Long, narrow, twisty, good first pitch, tunnel trees, bumps all the way. My best one at Alta.

The very upper part of "La Principale" which is the main mogul trail of the area (with a complete competition mogul track on the right side)

A closer view of upper "Slalom" which was still super great today with great options to jump the cliffs on the very upper part today.

Upper Fantastik, another major challenge of the area. It's the neighbour of Slalom and the new gladed line is in the large wood between them. The coverage was enough thin, in the rocky pitch of Fantastik.

So it was possibly my last day at Alta this season with the spring express that arrived yesterday. Let's pray for spring snowfalls !
