E. Nigma rides again!
It was a tough call this morning. The avalanche report said a foot or more in upper Big Cottonwood Canyon (read: Brighton/Solitude) and 8 inches in upper Little Cottonwood Canyon (read: Alta/Snowbird). I called Anon E. Mus, and he had only a full-day ticket to Solitude, and as he didn't know if he'd be spending the full day he opted for Alta. OK, OK...I decided to forego the additional 4-5 inches and head for Alta as well. After all, I was only going up for a few runs.
We were joined by Mr. and Mrs. N. O. Name and, according to an apres-ski email from Mr. Mus, chewed up the new snow as follows:
Yee-freakin'-ha! The true total was 10 inches of new 7% snow, with a foot or more in favored locations (read: Devil's Castle). That 7% was perfect -- light enough to float effortlessly, yet dense enough to float above the subsurface. And Alta's 6" 5 a.m. report was just perfect for keeping most locals away, such that even when I left to return to work we were still getting true untracked.
Light was flat, so pictures below suck.
More snow moves in late tomorrow into Thursday, then another storm over the weekend.

About 2.5 hrs of skiing gave us (commuter groomers and traverses omitted): Ballroom - Birdhouse Woods - Main St. - Nina's or Schuss Gully; Wildcat ropeline - Watson Knoll (who the hell knows what that bump is called); Razorback - Cecret Hill - Cabin Hill; Devil's Castle first bowl; Greeley Bowl - Greeley Hill; Greeley Bowl - Greeley Hill (yeah, it was that good the first time)
