Met up with the webmaster from their page for a personal tour. Berkshire East is a mountain that has a little bit of everything, but focuses on two features: great expert and beginner terrain.

Thanks to the foot of snow on Friday everything was open. Grizzly was a great steep mogul run. Horace's Glade and Blizzard Island were two intermediate tree runs that were a blast to get down. Mohawk was a decent cruiser.

They have one trail called the Beast, and it sure is. I didn't ski it, but took one look---steep as hell, very tightly packed trees. I'm not that advanced! But if you want some challenge, check it out.

Trivia: Berkshire East's triple comes from Magic Mtn.

Well worth a visit if you're in the Berkshires. Ticket prices were reasonable, 35 for a day.

Jeremy
www.nelsap.org
