Berthoud Pass avalanche

I was alerted to this by my buddy in Winter Park. COnditions looks simalar to snowbird/alta (minus the avy control and bootpacking etc.)furthering the claims that when it does snow watch out!

He was skiing in an area with pretty high consequence. The alpine is just not a great place to be skiing these days. Especially on steeper slopes like the Second Creek headwall. He's very lucky to be alive.

The CAIC has a preliminary report up on their site.

When it snows for real, things are certainly going to be touchy.
