Bode: Brilliant PR or just fortuitous mouthing off?

Okay, so Bode's booze comments have proved the final spark that was needed to launch his pre-Olympic publicity, the magnitude of which (covers of Newsweek, Time, etc) our sport has not seen in more than 20 years.

Were the booze comments well-engineered publicity or just Bode mouthing off at the right time and stumbling upon a pre-Olympic media frenzy?

You have to love Bode for his skill, his upbringing, and his refusal to comform, but sometimes his attitude and subsequent comments are not exactly promoting our sport in a positive manner. Drinking and skiing is foolish, although I believe he was actually talking about skiing with a hangover. I also believe he will some day regret some of the things he has said and done when he was young and foolish; but don't we all.
 
This is just plain great pr .... you know what they say "any publicity is good publicity." We are all talking about it obviously worked
