Bretton Woods 2/11 16"-28"

i'm lookin' forward to this report! Thursday at Stowe with 12" new was awesome and tomorrow morning should be pretty sweet...wind kept the quad closed all day...

Ok,here it is. I got to the mountain about 10am and headded right for the demo center. The Pocket Rockets I was hoping to get were out but were expected back shortly so I hopped on a pair of Ten Eighties.Great ski, I loved 'em! My favorite ski until I tried the Rockets in the afternoon. I am headed out today shopping for some Pocket Rockets.
The No Bull snow report was 16" at the base with up to 3' at the top. Snow density was a bit heavy underneath but the top few inches were pretty light. There was so much snow it was almost too much at once for the realativly tame mountain. Lots of people getting stuck trying to ski the ungroomed. They left most of the sides of the trails ungroomed.
This was my first trip back to BW in at least 15 years so it was my first time riding the new West mountain and Rosebrook Canyon glades. I was impressed. The glades dont compare to Jay but I still had fun. Lots of first timers flopping around in the woods yesterday getting stuck. You pretty much needed to straightline the woods or anything ungroomed as the mellow pitch of the mountain and quantity of snow would make you loose your momentum. The superfat Rockets were my saving grace. I skied like a freakin world champ on those boards!
The temps were moderate(mid 20's) and the wind wasnt too bad. I read on thier snow report that in almost 4000 days of operation they have only had to shut down the lifts 4 times! I wish Jay could say the same thing. I heard several people say that it was far and away the best conditions they ever skied in. Not me personally but conditions were excellent. All in all a terriffic powder day and a long time coming.
