Today was one of those days where there's 3 times more employees than clients at the mountain. How often does it happen that you don't cross anybody while going down 5 runs in a row, WHEN THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY DOWN???

2 runs, 2 chairlifts and 2 mountains were open today: The Victoriaville on Mt Soleil, and a Brome/Knowlton combo on Mt Brome. Both runs/chairs/mountains are not tied together yet so walking was required to go from one to the other.

Conditions were good considering it had just refrozen. Only one short part of the Knowlton was sketchy (3/4 snow with rocks, 1/4 fist-large ice balls), otherwise it was pretty much well groomed. The Victoriaville had spring conditions this afternoon due to its western orientation, but skiing it was not exciting at all (it's a green on which you gain just enough speed to go down, but yet not enough to be able to do turns...).

What's impressive, though, is the amount of construction going on at the ski area. Beside all the new stuff of the waterpark, they are still working on the maintenance buildings and main lodge. That's of course, in addition to their new trails (about 10) and their new HSQ. Oh, and a completely redesigned summit, too. That's sketchy though: the 3 quads (2 of which HS) arrive within 30 feet of one another. They have designed the summit so as to manage traffic in the way a highway interchange would do, but I still think it's gonna be hell when you add in beginners and snowboarders fixing their boards... It'll be fun to watch.
