Skiing tonight at Buck Hill was quite good. A solid base was topped with packed powder and loose granular. The guns were turned on before sunset, and they were going full-force on their competition hill (Sailer's Chute and Ballroom) as well as on Milk Run. Race training is expected to begin Saturday.

A strong cold front moved through the area this afternoon, spreading some light flurries, much colder and drier air, and a stiff northwesterly breeze. This air should allow for some high-output snowmaking production overnight. This evening, skiing was available on Crossroads, Milk Run and Teacher's Pet, but that should expand significantly with snowmaking over the next few days - the mountain is hopeful to be in full operation by early next week.
