I slept in a bit in anticipation of firm conditions first thing. I got to the mountain about 10:00 and geared up to warm temps and blue skys.
The ride up the Peabody Express revealed lots of cover lost from last week  . But things looked like they were softening up a bit and the day had much promise for some spring conditions.

Some high thin clouds were present but sunshine dominateed the day. Nice views of the Franconia Range were all day.

Mittlersill needs some more but it was still hard to stay away.

I hope this guy knows what he's getting into! At least she skis!

The natural trails took a real beating this past week with the warm temps. It will back to bare earth after the r@!n. Snow softened nicely as the day wore on which wore me out around 2pm when I called it a day. And it was a nice day!

Hey, nice picts with your new digital camera, NHPH!

BTW, the Sherburne was covered better than the snow ranger's report indicated on the 8th, but did require side-stepping over a wide open stream right at HoJos where the Boote Spur Cutoff crosses the Sherbie. Apparently they are unable to travel up & down in the snowcat, which is tough for the snow rangers and search & rescue, but good for skiing beacuse no frozen cat tracks on the ski trail. But that was before the horrible rain events of last Wednesday night and Saturday...

Cannon also took quite a beating after your Friday report. The 9"-11" of powder was a nice afterthought from mother nature, but it fell on bare ground on much of the 'natural snow' trails, and any man-made base had frozen into an icy mess that nothing sticks to. Add to that frostbite danger from single-digit to sub-zero temps with a windchill, and Sunday was brutal. I quit after a few runs on the Zoomer chair. Those braver than I ventured over the saddle, and reported that Barons was 'just awful'.

You were lucky to catch the good conditions on Friday!
