After work, I went up to the mountain to enjoy what was left of the day, and what was left of the snow three weeks after Cannon's closing day. OK, so I was wrong about Cannon having top-to-bottom coverage through May first. Today was just one too many 80-degree days, and some walking is now required mid- and lower-mountain, no matter which route you take up or down. There are still a few upper trails with good coverage, (Paulies Extension, Tramway, Profile, and Skylight still look good from a distance), but nothing continuous to the bottom.

If they were running the Cannonball Quad, it would be walk-on & walk-off.

It's not pretty, but you could still ski from the top of the quad, down to the top of Profile

Upper Ravine looked like it might be OK

Profile was the way I skied up, and it was definitely the way I wanted to ski down. After skiing over this bit of grass, it was a great run

These photos from the top & bottom of Profile doesn't do it justice. The middle was great, but I was having too much fun to stop and take another pic.

Lower Hardscrabble was still a good run, except for a 10' break that you could sidestep over, all the way down to the top of Redball.

From there, however, it was a good long walk over to Lower Ravine. There was a little snow on Turnpike, but not worth skiing. Lower Ravine gets you down further before you have to walk again (twice) on the way to Peabody.

The Front Five are devastated. Avalanche may still have a top-to-bottom line, but I didn't stop to look closely. Garys, Rocket, Zoomer, and Paulies clearly didn't.
