Cape Cod, the hidden ski resort

In my backyard I can ski cross-country on a sprint track if I put it down. With such light powder I didn't expect to be able to get a fast track going. However, I did. Starting out with Violet grip wax, I found the temp changed a bit once the track was set. Since I was sticking a bit, I added Violet Special which created a very slick ski. I'm going out again this morning. It's too bad someone obliterated my track but there's so much fresh snow, I can put down another one. There's nothing like this for an outdoor experience. Clear, fresh air and bright sunshine today. Clean new snow everywhere. I'm skiing more days here than when I lived in Vermont.

Sorry, but I hadn't logged in before that last message. Anyway, I'm sure I got the first tracks in on this last storm. The silence was deafening.

I've just put in three good days of track skiing in a row and expect another one tomorrow. I've been using the same wax combo each day. The powder settled and melted a bit yesterday which make it easier to set down a new track beside the old. I've been out now 27 days X-C and 6 with snowshoes this winter.
