Last year a buddy and I decided to finally check out the GG. We stayed at the dry river camp, and skiied 4 epic runs down airplane, and stinkbug or something like that. The day before, while there was still enough light, we spotted the slides of crawford notch. To us, this looked like opportunities similar to Tuck's, without the 1.5 hour approach hike. To us, it looks like you could pull over just about anywhere, and start hiking straight up for a really nice run. Has anyone had any luck in there? Does it collect enough snow to last deep into spring? It appears to be facing north/north-east, so nor'easters must dump significant amounts of snow in there. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had any experience skiing some of those chutes.
